LO4: Evidence Of Editing

FRONT COVER

Throughout editing the front cover of my image I used Adobe Photoshop, I begun with the original photograph and edited it to make it look darker/ indie to fit with the genre of Plectrum, I also added in my masthead which was edited through Photoshop to be made to look similar to other similar genres of real magazines which had a grungy feel to the them for example Kerrang. I added banners too to the top and bottom which was similar to the real life magazine I was looking at a green day special of Kerrang, my house colours changed throughout editing the front cover as I started co operating yellow into Plectrum, this made it look more vibrant as the black and red was giving off a more rock sense to the magazines genre instead of Indie Rock. The text was all edited through Photoshop also using a stroke around the masthead, and using bold sans serif font for subheadings to make the text stand out more and contrast with the photograph

CONTENTS PAGE

I edited my contents page through Photoshop for my masthead and InDesign for the layout of the actual contents page section. There's clear evidence of editing as I went along from using the boxes to insert certain photographs and texts which is useful for planning where everything was going in terms of relating mine to a real magazine. I also used my house colours differently compared to my front cover to make each page have stand out features but also keeping consistency clear within my theme. The final page appeals to my audience as it relates to them within a sense of the bright house colours and the feautures on the side which my target audience of 15-25 will have heard of the bands, this will make them want to buy the magazine and read more about different bands.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

On my double page spread I edited it through Adobe InDesign.  I used features like banners for example on the text of each question to make it stand out from the rest of the text, I also used stroke on my masthead for 'MA SUSHI' this contrast nicely with the black colour having a yellow stroke to show vibrancy.  I also inserted a banner to make my masthead stand out to the rest of the page
